The Mag-Bind® Blood & Tissue DNA HDQ Prefilled 96 Kit includes prefilled plates in 96-well standard automation format. The configuration of this kit works seamlessly on magnetic processors such as the Thermo Fisher Scientific KingFisher® Flex, QIAGEN BioSprint®, and Applied Biosystems MagMAX® Express-96. Included in this kit are all plastic accessories, including tip combs, that are needed for an extraction run post-lysis. This kit offers a versatile method for isolating high-quality DNA from a wide variety of samples, including fresh or frozen animal cultured cells and tissues, buccal swabs, mouse tail snips, dried blood spots, up to 250 μL whole blood, and up to 250 μL saliva. With no reagent set-up and the quick magnetic response of the Mag-Bind® Particles PF-HDQ, hands-on time and the overall processing time are significantly reduced. The purification procedure provides high-quality DNA suitable for direct use in most downstream applications including amplification, next generation sequencing (NGS), and enzymatic reactions.

Protocols are available for the following magnetic processors:

  • Thermo Fisher Scientific KingFisher® Flex
  • QIAGEN BioSprint®
  • Applied Biosystems MagMAX® Express-96

For Research Use Only. Not for use in diagnostic procedures.

Table 1. The average DNA yield from 250 μL whole blood samples and 10 mg mouse kidney tissue samples were obtained using the Mag-Bind® Blood & Tissue DNA HDQ Prefilled 96 Kit and eluted in 100 μL volume. DNA yield was determined using Thermo Scientific’s NanoDrop® 2000c. The absorbance ratios > 1.8 indicate high purity of the isolated DNA.

High Molecular Weight DNA

Figure 2. The size of genomic DNA purified from mouse kidney tissue samples using the Mag-Bind® Blood & Tissue DNA HDQ Prefilled 96 Kit was analyzed on the Agilent TapeStation® 2200. The purified DNA is of high molecular weight, with the software analyzing it to be > 60 kb. The DIN values are all > 8.2, indicating highly intact DNA of superior quality.

Average Ct Values

Figure 3. Average Ct values obtained amplifying the purified DNA from blood and tissue samples using the Mag-Bind® Blood & Tissue DNA HDQ Prefilled 96 Kit . The ΔCt value was ~3.3, indicating high-quality DNA that is free of inhibitors.
