The E.Z.N.A.® Blood DNA Kit provides rapid total DNA isolation from 1-250 µL of fresh and frozen anticoagulated whole blood. The E.Z.N.A.® Blood DNA Kit can also be used for the preparation of genomic DNA from buffy coat, serum, plasma, bone marrow, lymphocytes, platelets, and body fluids. This kit allows for simultaneous processing of single or multiple samples in less than 30 minutes. Phenol/chloroform extractions, and time-consuming steps such as precipitation with isopropanol or ethanol have been eliminated. DNA purified with the E.Z.N.A.® Blood DNA method is ready for applications such as PCR, Southern blotting, or restriction enzyme digestion.

DNA was also extracted from 200 µL whole blood using an equivalent kit from Company Q, following manufacturer’s protocol. DNA concentrations and absorbance ratios were determined via Thermo Scientific’s NanoDrop™ 2000c. DNA concentration is reported with respect to the input volume of whole blood.

DNA was also extracted from 200 µL whole blood using an equivalent kit from Company Q, following manufacturer’s instructions. DNA integrity was anlayzed via Agilent’s TapeStation® 4150. DNA concentrations for Company Q were outside the recommended range for the TapeStation.
